  1. Welcome to our CD-ROM Training. 
  2. This CD-ROM will help guide you through the powerful
  3. features of this software.

  6. SETUP INSTRUCTIONS:
  7.  
  8. These CD-ROMs have an auto play feature. Training may also be 
  9. accessed by completing the following steps:
  10.  
  11.  
  12. 1. Click the Start button
  13. 2. Point to Programs
  14. 3. Point to AppDev Training
  15. 4. Click User Log In - Registration
  16.  
  17.  
  18. A Single User installation will take 
  19. approximately 20 megabytes of hard disk space.

  22. 1. Start Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT
  23. 2. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM Drive
  24. 3. Choose Run from the Start button in Windows 95, 98, or Windows NT 4.0.
  25. 4. Type  D:\setup.exe (If necessary, substitute D 
  26.    with the correct letter for your CD-ROM drive.)
  27. 5. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT APPEAR ON THE 
  28.    SCREEN.

  31. REGISTRATION:
  32.  
  33. The first time that you run the CD-ROM, the Registration
  34. Page appears. Otherwise, the User Log In Page appears.
  35.  
  36. Type the user information into the fields, then click the
  37. Add button. This will add the new user to the database.
  38.  
  39. WARNING: Remember what you type in these fields. Consider
  40. writing your user name and password for later reference and
  41. storing them in a secure location. They are not accessible if
  42. you forget them.

  44. The Enter button only works when the entire form is completed.
  45.  
  46.  
  47. NAVIGATION:
  48.  
  49. The DIRECTORY button displays an index of the CD-ROM. Each
  50. section of the CD-ROM is organized into chapters with
  51. subheadings. Click any topic to go directly to its training.
  52. To close the directory window, click the Directory button again.
  53.  
  54. The CHALLENGE button displays a list for interactive training.
  55. Each heading links to a lesson window that tests what you have
  56. learned. The challenge session includes thorough, step-by-step
  57. exercises and a variety of learning tools. To close the challenge
  58. window, click the Challenge button again.
  59.  
  60. The GLOSSARY button displays an alphabetical list of terms
  61. covered by the author in the training CD-ROM. Upon clicking a
  62. term, a definition screen explains the word. To close the
  63. glossary window, click the Close button.
  64.  
  65. The Interact button allows you to switch between this CD-ROM
  66. and the application that the CD-ROM covers. Use the Interact
  67. button to train with the application.

  69. NOTE: When using the Interact feature for the first time, you
  70. may have to browse to the application and select it. If the
  71. application is not installed on your computer, then the window
  72. will minimize.

  74. The Test button advances you to the Pre-Test / Post-Test
  75. Selection Page where you can choose between a Pre-Test or a
  76. Post-Test. Begin your training and skills assessment here.
  77.  
  78. The Help (?) button gives you access to an About feature and a 
  79. set of web pages that provide detailed information on using the 
  80. CD-ROM. This button can be used anywhere in the program.

  82. The Minimize (-) button shrinks the window to an icon and title
  83. bar on your Windows taskbar. Clicking the icon on the Windows
  84. taskbar restores the window. This button can be used anywhere in
  85. the program.

  87. The Close (X) button allows you to exit the CD-ROM. This button
  88. can be used anywhere in the program.

  90. The Play, Pause, and Stop VCR-style buttons allow you to control
  91. the action on the screen. Clicking the play button more than once
  92. advances you through all of the subcomponents of that module.

  95. WINDOW/SCREEN FEATURE:

  97. You can move the window on your screen by dragging the background
  98. area of the window to any location on your screen. This feature
  99. can be used anywhere in the program.
